GARDEN DESIGN 2024

Our expanded nature spaces also feature various design trends that change over time, but there are also those that will be like classic values and always in demand. In this blog article, we will look at those that, in our opinion, most vividly depict the style of 2024 in the gardens of our clients.

PLANTS IN THE GARDEN

Pots, boxes and various alternatives to flower beds – a beautiful accent in a modern garden. Bulbous flowers are used a lot – supplementing plantings in beds and pots to bring colors to the garden in early spring. Very large pots for various accent plants in the garden, on the terrace, in gazebos are also relevant. A variety of leafy shrubs such as currants, rhododendrons, roses and other flowering shrubs can be planted in pots. At the same time, lightness enters our gardens with airy plantings of grasses and perennials, as well as greenery of deciduous trees and shrubs, replacing the clutter that is so common in our climate. After all, not only conifers are decorative in winter – we learn to see the beauty in the colorful leaves in autumn, and later we hang strings of lights on the bare tree branches in the dark months of the year, making the garden cozier.

CONTRASTS

Simple and modern design continues to be popular. This style includes clean lines, minimal decorations and expressive plants that add elegance to the garden. Concrete, wood and metal are still the materials to play with in the outdoor space, bringing new breezes into it. Whether it is a wooden pergola with a green terrace, a glass greenhouse of metal construction for various plant crops or a portable fire place for family dinners in the green area of the garden – make your recreation area more attractive by using contrasts.

HARMONY WITH THE ENVIRONMENT

We look at the garden as a continuation of our environment. We observe what plants are found in our environment and bring them into our garden. For decorativeness, we can play with different varieties of plants. By choosing native flora that is adapted to the specific climate zone and soil type, the plants can be more resistant to diseases and various pests, and require less water and care. Mimicking the natural landscape and imitating the terrain, for example creating rock, dune or rock gardens or creating natural water bodies, can create natural habitats for a variety of insects, birds and other fauna. Such gardens serve as green havens not only for us, but also contribute to the biodiversity that is so important to support these days.

SMART GARDENS

Well, there is nothing new anymore that more and more technologies are being integrated into garden design to improve the efficiency of garden maintenance and plant cultivation. It is cost-effective in the long run to purchase various smart technologies, such as a solar irrigation system for a greenhouse that uses solar and rainwater energy sources. The automated lawn watering, yard lighting, and garden monitoring and care system will not only make your work easier, but will save precious time that you can spend with your loved ones instead.

SUSTAINABLE GARDEN DESIGN

In JARDI gardens, sustainability in simple words means “working economically”, i.e. thoughtfully using the resources given by nature. Modern man is aware that recycling and reusing materials in garden design is a decisive step towards sustainability, reducing the amount of waste and promoting the efficient use of resources. We can reuse various items in the garden, for example, egg boxes for sowing seeds, use pebbles or damaged ceramic pots to line new pots for better soil water drainage. Gardeners at nurseries will always be happy if you return used plastic plant pots. You can remove the excess soil as close as possible to the object or find another way to use it. We can support local producers by supplying materials and seedlings, as well as by setting up beds and planting fruit trees – excavated sod can be placed at the bottom of the pit, significantly saving the amount of black soil. These are just some of the small steps we can take every day to create a sustainable environment in a wonderful garden. Let’s make them beautiful together!
