An extensive garden reconstruction of decorative plantings in Priedklane was carried out in the yard of a private house. The JARDI team proved that even an overgrown garden can regain its beauty without complete removal. Initially, the owners wanted to remove some of the plantings because they seemed to have lived their life – everything was too overgrown, dense, and difficult to maintain.
However, after carefully assessing the situation, we saw potential behind the “jungle” – a well-established structure and valuable plants. Therefore, a decision was made to make garden design adjustments and a thoughtful reconstruction that would preserve the existing decorative plantings while making the flower beds more functional and easier to maintain.
Work carried out:
- Removed dead and withered plants,
- pruned existing plants and cut out dry branches,
- thinned out overly dense plantings,
- transplanted healthy plants to vacant spots to restore compositional balance,
- restored flower beds and the drip irrigation pipe network,
- laid agrotextile to help limit the growth of bittercress,
- applied a fresh layer of mulch.
This planting reconstruction not only improved the visual appeal of the garden but also significantly facilitated its future maintenance. Over four days of diligent work, preserving valuable plants and reorganizing their placement, the structure and spirit of the garden were restored, while also respecting the original design.
